Sony SCD-CE595 5-Disc SACD Super Audio CD Player
The Sony SCD-CE595, released around 2004, is a 5-disc carousel-style changer that holds a unique place in audio history as one of the most affordable entry points into high-resolution Super Audio CD (SACD) playback.
While it shares the same 5-disc convenience as the CDP-CE375, the "SCD" designation signifies its ability to play the DSD-based SACD format, offering significantly higher fidelity than standard Red Book CDs.

1. Audio & High-Resolution Performance
-
SACD & DSD Support: Uses Direct Stream Digital (DSD) technology with a 1-bit sampling frequency 64 times higher than a standard CD. This results in a wider dynamic range and a frequency response that extends far beyond human hearing.
-
Multi-Channel Management: Unlike standard CD players, this unit features 5.1-channel analog outputs. It can decode multi-channel SACDs, allowing for a immersive surround sound music experience.
-
Super Audio D/A Converter: Equipped with a multi-level DAC optimized specifically for the high data rates of SACD.
-
Dual Laser Pickup: Features separate lasers optimized for SACD and standard CD playback to ensure maximum tracking accuracy for both formats.
2. Connectivity (I/O)
-
5.1-Channel Analog Out: 6 RCA jacks (Front L/R, Surround L/R, Center, and Subwoofer) for connecting to a multi-channel receiver like your Yamaha RX-V571.
-
Optical Digital Output: 1 Toslink port. Note: Per industry standards, this output only works for standard CD playback. SACD audio must be sent through the analog outputs due to copy protection.
-
CD/SACD Text: Displays metadata such as artist and track names on the front panel for compatible discs.
