• 4-Head Hi-Fi Stereo: Unlike the mono VHQ-41M you looked at earlier, this unit features high-fidelity stereo recording and playback. It uses two dedicated audio heads to record sound as an FM signal within the video track, providing a dynamic range of >90dB.

• Super-VHS Quasi Playback (SQPB): This allows you to play back S-VHS tapes in standard VHS resolution—a very useful feature if you are processing tapes for your media transfer service and come across S-VHS recordings.

• 19-Micron Heads: Specifically designed to provide a clearer, sharper picture when playing back tapes recorded in EP (Extended Play) mode.

• VCR Plus+ with All-Station Setup: A sophisticated timer-programming system that allowed users to enter a code from a TV guide to set a recording.

• Commercial Advance: This model can "map" a recording as it happens and automatically skip past commercial breaks during playback.

• Movie Advance: Automatically skips to the start of the movie on many rental tapes, bypassing previews and warnings.

• Program End Search: A dedicated button that automatically finds the end of the last recorded segment on a tape so you don't accidentally record over existing footage.
